Finishing materials

1) Artificial stone

  • different types of synthetic stone products based on polyester resins and filler from natural stone chippings,
  • facing product from colored concretes with surface texture and color similar to those of natural stone.

Synthetic products are mostly used as surface parts of the furniture of different designation (worktops, bar counters, window sills), bathroom fixtures (sinks, etc.) and as decoration items (decoration elements, even sculptures).

Both types of artificial stone represent imitation of natural materials. One of them is cut from a mass of rock and processed (polished), with stone internal pattern. The other one is selected and processed, with natural stone texture and color.

2) Natural stone is natural construction material with a wide variety of natural tones and patterns. Being an ecologically safe material, it is used for interiors of apartments, homes and offices.

Natural stone features:

  • • durability - keeping of original properties and appearance,
  • • symbol of prestige and stability,
  • • unique variety of colors,
  • • porosity and water absorption,
  • • resistance to acids,
  • • durability and strength.

Natural stones can be divided into three groups: low-strength (porous limestone, hassock), medium-strength (marble, limestone), strong (quartz rock, granite), whereas stone strength depends on stiffness of the minerals that the stone consists of. These materials determine the stone properties as well.

3) Porcelain tiles represent an artificial finishing material. They are manufactured by clay pressing with subsequent baking at the temperature of 1200-1300 °C.

Porcelain tiles features:

  • • low water absorption, high frost-resistance,
  • • resistance to chemicals,
  • • deep color and pattern,
  • • hard surface resistant to abrasion,
  • • shock resistance and bending resistance,
  • • temperature difference resistance,
  • • constant color affected by external factors,
  • • option to produce a hard structured surface with anti-skid properties.

Porcelain tiles perfectly bond to walls and floor for a long time. Aesthetic properties of porcelain tiles allow to implement the boldest solutions of designers for any interior or facade due to wide selection of colors and textures.

4) Travertine tiles consist of strong fine-grain polycrystalline earth material. It can be ground and polished. Travertine is used as construction and facing stone (also for facing of interiors). Before travertine polishing, its cells are filled. Red and yellow types of travertine create very interesting decorative effects and are frequently used in non-polished state, which gives the premises an old country look. Travertine belongs to materials for which artificial aging is most frequently used (mostly for flooring) to give a special look.

5) Mosaic is a pattern combined from small pieces made of one or several materials. Mosaic elements (small square tiles) can be made of stone (marble, granite), porcelain, glass or cobalt glass.

6) Stone mosaic is made of natural stone processed using one of the methods used for processing of rock masses. Stone tiles can be polished, ground and aged. This type of mosaic can be used for flooring in the same premises where natural stone coatings are used. Stone mosaic can also be used as fragments or decorative flooring inserts.

7) Porcelain mosaic is made of porcelain tile pieces of different size, wide variety of colors, which allows to create any patterns. For mosaic laying, glues and cosmetic chemicals specially developed for paneling of premises with porcelain tiles are used. A very interesting effect is created by a combination of polished and non-polished surfaces; at a certain angle mosaic pieces with a polished pattern start glistening.

8) Metal mosaic is stainless steel mosaic. Mosaic is fastened to a plastic base: distance between tiles is always the same, whereas mounting is simple and can be performed by anyone. Metal mosaic is a bright spot that changes the style conception significantly. It is used both indoors and outdoors: it can be used for flooring, has good moisture resistance properties.

9) Glass mosaic is an alloy of silica sand and other components with coloring oxide additives. It has unique water resistance features. Glass mosaic is usually used for walls paneling.

10) Cobalt glass is a type of mosaic manufactured specially for floors. Cobalt glass has a higher strength in comparison with normal glass mosaic. Glass is ground into powder, pressed into mosaic molds and baked in stoves. After that non-transparent material is obtained. One advantage of cobalt glass is that it perfectly suits for floor paneling in premises with high traffic flow: stairs, staircases, halls and corridors. Cobalt glass color range is very wide, which allows to create wonderful floor compositions serving as decoration of any interior.
